Four years before I entered this world as a future beauty editor, the Guerlain Météorites Pearls launched in 1987. From the start, the cult-favorite product started paving the way for all the highlighters and color correctors that I can't get enough of today. In honor of the iconic product's 30th anniversary, Guerlain is launching a new version of the Dippin' Dot-like illuminating pearls this month with a whole collection inspired by the original. They even got a couple unicorn-inspired upgrades. Yup, even Guerlain, in addition to Christian Louboutin, is in on the mythical creature trend.

The new Météorites Happy Glow Pearls are housed in the most fitting packaging yet: a holographic white pearl-shaped jar. When you twist it open, there's a new color combo of color correcting and highlighting orbs inside. The pink, mauve, and champagne pearls have their own duties that work in harmony when brushed onto your cheekbones, nose, chin, and other places on your face that you choose to illuminate. (On days when I only got a couple hours of beauty sleep the night before, I wish I could just dip my whole face in the stuff.)

The pink acts as the main color corrector that brightens skin and neutralizes sallowness. Mauve adds a hint of rosiness to the mix while champagne helps reflect light for high-key radiance. All together, they create what Guerlain calls a "rainbow glow." If you've ever wondered what a prestige version of the heart-shaped rainbow highlighter—which was allegedly made by unicorns, would look like—this is definitely it. In reality, the Météorites Happy Glow Pearls gives skin a pearly pink radiance that instantly perks up sleepy skin and erases dullness. With those kind of results, no wonder the OG stuff had to be rationed when it launched in Paris 30 years ago. Shout out to the original packaging, too.

The new collection will be available at Sephora later this month. However, you can shop the Météorites Happy Glow Pearls now for $74 on nordstrom.com. There will also be a new-and-improved Météorites Brush (for $40) with pink bristles that picks up just the right amount of pigment with one swirl.
