Each year, the 103-year-old Headwear Association chooses six hat-wearing public figures who have “had a positive impact on the evolution and popularity of headwear fashions” to induct into its Hall of Fame. This year’s living inductees are Lady Gaga, Victoria Beckham, LL Cool J, and Kid Rock, while the honor was given posthumously to Marlene Dietrich and Fred Astaire. This is far from the only distinction the organization awards to famous people — earlier this year, they gave Johnny Depp the possibly more prestigious “Hat Person of the Year” title, which must be something like the hat world’s His Royal HighHatness.
